Project Studio: Resonant Bodies
Project Studio: Resonant Bodies is a Community-Based Learning (CBL) project that offers music technology and industrial design students the opportunity to create compositions, embedded systems (wearable electronics, sculptures, sensor-based work, etc), and interactive systems in collaboration with a community partner, the Atlanta-based Full Radius Dance. Students will receive regular feedback and instruction from Douglas Scott (choreographer and director of FRD), Noah Posner (Industrial Design), and me (Alexandria Smith; Music Technology). Students will workshop composing and designing interactive systems for dancers with and without disabilities. Through these exercises and by working with Full Radius Dance, students will deepen their understanding of accessible design through making and co-design, and their creative practice with high-quality portfolio pieces.
This course has been sponsored and supported by the Community-Based Learning Incubator (CTL) and the Arts at Tech Catalyst Grant.
